Collective Mining Expands the Dimensions of the High-Grade Shallow Zone of Mineralization at the Apollo Porphyry System and Intersects Significant Visual Mineralization Along the Newly Discovered Contact Zone

  • Hole APC-46 was drilled westward from Pad 6 and intersected a long and continuous interval of gold-silver-copper mineralization beginning at surface in oxide mineralization and bottoming in mineralization with results as follows:
  • APC-46 extended the strike length of the shallow mineralization to the west with the dimensions now measuring 160 metres x 130 metres (previously 150 metres x 130 metres).
  • APC-46 bottomed in mineralization in quartz diorite porphyry with the final 7.1 metres averaging 0.88 g/t AuEq.
  • APC-44 was drilled to the northwest from Pad 6 and intercepted a long and continuous zone of gold-silver-copper mineralization beginning at surface in oxide material and bottoming in mineralization with results as follows:
  • Detailed visual logging of drill hole APC-53, which was drilled to the northeast from Pad 10, indicates that two potentially significant zones of mineralization were encountered along the hole. APC-53 was designed to step-out along the recently announced “Contact Zone” where drill hole APC-42 cut 104.8 metres from surface at 5.56 g/t AuEq (see press release dated April 25, 2023). The reader should take caution until assay results are received from a third-party laboratory as visual results are inherently unreliable in nature.
  • Eight additional holes have been completed at the Apollo system with assay results for APC-45, APC-47 and APC-48 expected in the near term. All eight holes intersected cumulative mineralization over varying yet significant downhole drill lengths. Three drill rigs are operating on site with a fourth rig expected to begin operating prior to the end of Q2, 2023. Once onsite, the fourth rig will focus on testing the six new exploration targets directly surrounding the Apollo system (see press release dated April 18, 2023 for further details).

TORONTO, May 16, 2023 /CNW/ – Collective Mining Ltd. (TSXV: CNL) (OTCQX: CNLMF) (“Collective” or the “Company”) is pleased to announce assay results from a further two drill holes completed within the Apollo porphyry system (“Apollo”) as well as visuals from a new exploratory drill hole at the Guayabales project located in Caldas, Colombia.  Apollo is a high-grade, bulk tonnage copper-silver-gold system, which owes its excellent metal endowment to an older copper-silver and gold porphyry system being overprinted by younger precious metal rich, carbonate base metal vein systems (intermediate sulphidation porphyry veins) within a magmatic, hydrothermal inter-mineral breccia body currently measuring 395 metres x 385 metres x 915 metres and open for expansion.

APC-44 and APC-46 Details (See Table 1 and Figures 1-4)

The Phase II drilling program of 2023 is advancing on schedule with fifteen holes completed and results announced. A further eight holes have been drilled and await assay results from the lab. The objectives of the 2023 program are to define the high-grade mineralization and dimensions of the Apollo porphyry system near surface, expand the size of the system through step-out and directional drilling and drill test multiple new targets generated through grassroots exploration. Since the announcement of the discovery hole at Apollo in June 2022, a total of 46 drill holes (approximately 20,700 metres) have been completed and assayed.

This press release outlines results from two exploratory holes drilled in westerly directions from Pad 6 and designed to understand and expand upon the shallow mineralization and the morphology of the system on its western side. Assay results and geological observations for both holes are summarized below:

APC-44 was drilled steeply to the northwest from surface at Pad 6 to a maximum downhole depth of 430.2 metres. The mineralized interval of oxidation commenced from surface to 37.55 metres and consists of saprolite from 2 to 21.95 metres followed by a transition zone down to 39.55 metres. The transition zone hosts iron oxides formed from the oxidation of the original sulphides hosted within the matrix of the breccia and within veins. Below the zone of oxidation, the intercept passed into fresh rock hosting mineralized breccia with a sulphide composition of 0.4% chalcopyrite, 1.0% pyrite and some pyrrhotite (up to 0.3%). Mineralization continued until 430.2 metres (420 metres vertical) when drilling was stopped while still in mineralization. At 148.25 metres downhole for approximately 18.5 metres, a zone of sheeted carbonate and base metal vein (CBM) material flooding the breccia matrix was encountered, containing 0.2% to 0.5% sphalerite and chalcopyrite associated with higher gold grades. The following assay results are highlighted:

  • 428.2 metres @ 1.41 g/t gold equivalent from 2 metres downhole (consisting of 0.61 g/t gold, 29 g/t silver and 0.24% copper) and including:

APC-46 was drilled to the west from Pad 6 to a maximum downhole depth of 428.20 metres and was targeted to test the westward extension of the Apollo system from surface. The drill hole intercepted porphyry and breccia impregnated mineralization before bottoming while still in mineralization at the end of the hole (400 metres vertical). The mineralized interval commenced directly below cover material from 5.75 metres depth with saprolite followed by saprock and then continued into transition material (oxidized sulphides) until a downhole depth of 28.25 metres. Below the oxide transition zone, the intercept passed into fresh rock consisting of quartz diorite breccia with a matrix of chalcopyrite (0.4%), pyrite (0.8%) and pyrrhotite (0.4%) before entering a post mineral dyke at 363.8 metres. At 418.45 metres, the hole exited the post mineral dyke and entered into quartz diorite porphyry until being terminated within mineralization at 425.6 metres. Assay results for this hole are as follows:

  • 358.0 metres @ 1.52 g/t gold equivalent from 5.75 metres downhole (consisting of 0.55 g/t gold, 31 g/t silver and 0.32% copper) including:
  • APC-46 is notable for the fact it expanded the near surface mineralization to the west and as a result, the overall dimensions have grown to 160 metres x 130 metres (previously 150 metres x 130 metres).

APC-53 Details (see Figure 3)

Detailed visual inspection of recently completed drill hole APC-53 has intersected two distinct zones of mineralization. APC-53 was drilled to the northeast from Pad 10 and was expected to remain above the known mineralized system until 230 metres downhole when it would enter mineralized breccia. However, an intense zone of multiple sheeted CBM veins overprinting mineralized quartz diorite was intersected from surface to a downhole depth of up to 150 metres. This newly discovered zone hosts continuous sheeted CBM veinlets containing sphalerite, galena, chalcopyrite and pyrite which overprint quartz diorite porphyry mineralization consisting of quartz vein stockwork hosting pyrite and minor chalcopyrite. As the hole progressed, typical mineralized angular breccia was intercepted downhole at 233 metres and continued for approximately 285 metres in length.  Multiple zones of sheeted CBM zones flooding the matrix were observed within the breccia. In particular, a zone extremely enriched in CBM vein fluid was observed from 277 metres downhole to 334 metres downhole with the breccia matrix hosting abundant sphalerite (0.2% to 3%) and galena (0.1% to 3%) as well as chalcopyrite (0.3% to 2.0%).  Assay results for APC-53 are expected in June 2023 and additional drilling in this area is planned in the short term.

Apollo Drill Program

Eight additional holes have been completed at the Apollo system with assay results expected in the near term. All holes intersected bulk tonnage mineralization over significant core lengths.

The Company presently has three diamond drill rigs operating at the Apollo project. A fourth drill rig is being mobilized to the project and is expected to initiate testing of the new exploration targets identified around Apollo (see press release dated April 18, 2023) in June 2023.

The Apollo target area, as defined to date by surface mapping, rock sampling and copper and molybdenum soil geochemistry, covers a 1,000 metres X 1,200 metres area, and represents a large and unusually high-grade Cu-Ag-Au porphyry system. Mineralization styles include early-stage porphyry veins, inter-mineral breccia mineralization and multiple zones of porphyry related late stage, sheeted, carbonate-base metal veins with high gold and silver grades. The Apollo target area is still expanding as the Company’s geologists have found multiple additional outcrop areas (see Collective press release dated April 18, 2023) with porphyry veining, breccia, and late stage, sheeted, carbonate base metal veins.

Collective Mining Discovers a New High-Grade Zone at the Breccia to Porphyry Contact by Drilling 104.8 Metres Grading 5.56 g/t Gold Equivalent from Surface at Apollo

  • Two reconnaissance holes were drilled eastwards from Pad 6 at the Apollo system to test the potential for high grade mineralization at the eastern contact zone where the inter-mineral breccia and the host porphyry vein stockwork meet. Based on prior observations, the concept to be proved was that the contact zone forms a trap for the accumulation of excess metal driven by the location where the late-stage carbonate base metal veins enter the system. The scout hole, APC-41, was drilled obliquely to the contact and was not optimally situated to fully test the zone. Based on the logging of that hole, APC-42 was then appropriately drilled orthogonal to the contact zone.
  • APC-42, which expanded the overall dimensions of the Apollo system modestly to the southwest intersected high-grade gold-silver-copper mineralization from surface over a broad interval with the highest accumulation (grams X metres) of oxide material encountered to date as follows:

The objectives of the 2023 program is to define the high-grade mineralization and dimensions of the Apollo porphyry system near surface, expand the size of the system through step-out and directional drilling and drill test multiple new targets generated through grassroot exploration. Since the announcement of the discovery hole at Apollo in June 2022, a total of 44 drill holes (approximately 18,400 metres) have been completed and assayed.

This press release announces results from two exploratory holes drilled eastwards from Pad 6 and designed to test the contact zone between the porphyry and inter-mineral breccia. The first hole, APC-41, was drilled to the northeast at a shallow angle and was suboptimal in design as it was drilled oblique to the contact zone. Based on the understanding gained from the first hole, APC-42 was drilled steeply due east and intercepted the contact zone at an orthogonal angle. Assay results and geological observations for both holes are summarized below:

APC-42 was drilled steeply to the east  from surface at Pad 6 to a maximum downhole depth of 126.3 metres. The mineralized interval includes 44.55 metres of combined saprolite and saprock with iron oxides formed from the oxidation of the sulphides hosted within the matrix of the breccia and within veins. Below the oxidized zone, the intercept passes into fresh rock with a sulphide composition of 0.5% chalcopyrite, 1.5% pyrite and pyrrhotite (up to 0.5%). One of the characteristic features of this intercept is the fact that it passes through a contact zone between breccia and porphyry. This zone contains both mineralized breccia and a stockwork of sulphide bearing quartz and carbonate veins within the adjacent porphyry material, all of which are associated with intense sericite alteration. Finally, the footwall zone of the porphyry is well altered and hosts mineralization associated with disseminated pyrite and quartz-pyrite veins with assay results as follows:

  • 104.8 metres @ 5.56 g/t gold equivalent (consisting of 4.21 g/t gold, 68 g/t silver and 0.3% copper) including:

This intercept is followed by 19.35 metres @ 0.33 g/t gold equivalent from 106.95 metres downhole and is hosted within quartz diorite porphyry.

APC-41 was drilled to the northeast from Pad 6 to a maximum downhole depth of 162.4 metres and was designed to test the contact zone between breccia and porphyry. The mineralized interval starts at 1.65 metres depth below the overburden and intersects 28.05 metres of combined saprolite and saprock with iron oxides formed from the oxidation of the sulphides hosted within the matrix of the breccia and within veins. Below the oxide zone, the intercept passes into fresh rock consisting of quartz diorite breccia with a matrix of chalcopyrite (0.2%), pyrite (up to 2%) and 0.1% pyrrhotite before exiting the breccia and entering into mineralized quartz diorite porphyry. As in APC-42, the contact zone is characterized by a stockwork of sulphide bearing quartz and carbonate, porphyry veins associated with intense sericite alteration. The sericite is overprinting earlier potassium alteration (biotite). Finally, the footwall porphyry is altered and hosts mineralization associated with disseminated pyrite and quartz-pyrite veins with assay results as follows:

  • 82.1 metres @ 3.09 g/t gold equivalent (consisting of 2.81 g/t gold, 13 g/t silver and 0.1% copper) including:

This intercept is followed by a lower grade intercept of 57 metres @ 0.34 g/t gold equivalent from 83.7 metres downhole and is hosted within quartz diorite porphyry.

Six additional holes have been completed at the Apollo system with assay results expected in the near term. All holes intersected bulk tonnage mineralization over core length of up to more than 500 metres.  APC-45 and APC-48 were shorter holes drilled from Pad 7, designed to test the contact zone between the inter-mineral breccia and porphyry host rock in the southern portion of the deposit. APC-44 and APC-46 were longer holes drilled from Pad 6 as part of the fan pattern of drilling to assess the shallow mineralization in the central area of the system. APC-49 was a deeper hole drilled to the northwest from Pad 6 and APC-47 was drilled eastwards from Pad 4.

Collective Mining Begins Mobilizing a Fourth Drill Rig to Test Six New High-Grade Porphyry Targets Within a 400 Metre Radius of the Apollo System

  • Exploration fieldwork has identified six well mineralized and outcropping porphyry and related style targets within a 400 metre radius of the Apollo system with assay results for soil and rock samples as follows:
  • Surface mapping at all six targets has outlined the same style of porphyry mineralization as the Apollo system, namely altered porphyry with vein stockwork, inter-mineral breccia with oxide followed by sulphides in the matrix and overprinting late-stage porphyry veins (“CBM Veins”).
  • Although the amount of rock and soil exposure in the sampling radius covering each of the six target areas is limited due to vegetation, historical landslides and volcanic ash cover, the scale of the areas and tenor of the assay results are similar to the original outcrop of the Apollo system. The Company estimates that there is no more than 5% rock exposure anywhere at the Guayabales project.
  • For comparison, the outcrop of the Apollo porphyry system prior to drilling only measured 10 metres in diameter. Subsequent drilling has outlined a porphyry system that to date measures 150 metres by 130 metres at surface, which then expands in dimensions quickly at depth to up to 500 metres wide and remains open.
  • Surface sampling was carried out in oxidized material and if the oxidation zone shares similar characteristics to the Apollo system, the copper and silver grades have been reduced by leaching. Recent drill results from Pad 6 and Pad 7 at Apollo corroborates this assertion.
  • A fourth drill rig is being mobilized to the project and is expected to initiate testing of the six new targets in late Q2, 2023.
  • Six additional holes have been completed at the Apollo system with assay results expected in the near term. APC-41, APC-42 and APC-45 are shorter holes designed to test the contact zones between the inter-mineral breccia and porphyry host rock in search of higher-grade sub zones. APC-44 and APC 46 are longer holes (up to 425 metres in mineralization) drilled from Pad 6 as part of a fan pattern to assess the shallow mineralization in this area and APC-47 is an exploratory hole drilled to the east from Pad 4 to test for mineralization beginning from below surface.

TORONTO, April 18, 2023 /CNW/ – Collective Mining Ltd. (TSXV: CNL) (OTCQX: CNLMF) (“Collective” or the “Company”) is pleased to announce exploration results from six newly generate porphyry and related style targets located within the Apollo target area at the Guayabales project located in Caldas, Colombia. The Apollo porphyry system is a high-grade, bulk tonnage copper-silver-gold system, which owes its excellent metal endowment to an older copper-silver and gold porphyry system being overprinted by younger precious metal rich, carbonate base metal vein systems (intermediate sulphidation porphyry veins) within a magmatic, hydrothermal inter-mineral breccia body currently measuring 395 metres x 385 metres x 915 metres and open for expansion.

Details (See Table 1 and Figures 1-3)

Exploration fieldwork has identified six target areas with outcropping porphyry style mineralization which are located within a 400 metre radius of the Apollo porphyry system. These new targets were generated by geological mapping, soil sampling and most importantly the emplacement of new tracks to enable supplies and equipment to be transported to the current drill pads in the area. Two key characteristics pertinent to understanding the potential impact of the targets and their associated metal values in rock and soil are as follows:

A. Collectively, the targets consist of all the same mineralization styles observed in the Apollo system, namely early-stage porphyry style with various porphyry veinlets, inter-mineral breccia, and late stage CBM veins which host higher values of gold and silver. The copper values range between 31 ppm and 1,410 ppm and reflect leaching of copper and silver due to surface oxidation. The leaching of copper in oxides at Apollo has been observed in all oxidized material drilled from Pad 6 and Pad 7. Copper values near surface in these drill holes display very similar grades to those observed in the six outcrops outlined in this release. Gold values range from 0.18 g/t to 8.29 g/t and silver values from 0.2 g/t to 346 g/t with variation in both cases related to the mineralization styles encountered.
B. Cognizance must be taken of the surface area and 3D morphology of the Apollo porphyry system when assessing these new porphyry outcrops. The original Apollo discovery outcrop was only 10 metres in diameter and was the only exposure identified prior to the drilling of discovery hole APC-1. The discovery outcrop had gold, silver, and copper values in the ranges of 0.07 to 4.1 g/t gold, 1.9 to 29 g/t silver and 377 to 1,023 ppm copper. After the erection of multiple drill pads, another two outcrop areas were located at Apollo following the construction of various tracks which were emplaced to service the various drill rigs with equipment and supplies. There is only approximately 5% outcrop exposure at the Guayabales project due to the dense vegetation and the covering of primary rock surfaces by historic landslide fill and young volcanic ash. Furthermore, drilling at the Apollo deposit has demonstrated that the surface expression is relatively small with a maximum known diameter at present of 150 metres whereas at depth this expands quickly to a known diameter of up to 500 metres. The deposit is still open in all directions.

The following brief descriptions and data are summarized for each outcrop target:

Target 1:

This target is located 200 metres west of the Apollo outcrop area. This outcrop has dimensions of 20 metres by 3 metres and hosts early-stage porphyry mineralization as well as clast supported crackle breccia with an iron oxide matrix cement of 3% to 5% in volume. Drusy quartz veining is superimposed on the breccia. Pervasive and strong sericite alteration overprints the rock exposures. Gold grades range from 1.13 g/t to 0.34 g/t with silver ranging from 0.2 g/t to 6.6 g/t and copper in the range of 90 ppm to 224 ppm.

Target 2:

This target is located 300 metres northeast of the Apollo system, has outcrop dimensions of 120 metres by 60 metres and contains a couple of historical and shallow artisanal mines. Geological mapping has identified altered porphyry hosting angular breccia with quartz diorite clasts. The matrix of the breccia has total sulphides of up to 5% which is predominantly pyrite with some chalcopyrite. CBM veinlets overprint the breccia and trend NW and EW. Alteration is strong and defined by sericite and chlorite. Gold values range from 8.29 g/t to 1.51 g/t, silver from 10 g/t to 346 g/t and copper from 72 ppm to 362 ppm.

Target 3:

Target 3 is located 300 metres east-northeast of the Apollo system and has outcrop dimensions of 15 metres by 3 metres. The outcrop area hosts angular breccia with quartz diorite clasts with an iron oxide cement (1%-2%) after sulphides. Strong Sericite-chlorite alteration is observed. The target has subsequently been expanded to 75 metres by 170 metres by anomalous gold in soil values. Rock samples range from 0.18 g/t to 0.63 g/t gold, silver ranges from 2 g/t to 68 g/t and copper from 43 ppm to 277 ppm.

Target 4:

This target is located 250 metres east of the Apollo system with dimensions measuring 20 metres x 4 metres and host crackle breccia of diorite composition and altered porphyry rocks. Breccia cement hosts 2%-3% iron oxide after sulphide while both the porphyry and breccia units are overprinted by CBM veinlets. Strong sericite alteration is observed in the outcrop. The target has been expanded to 150 metres by 100 metres by anomalous gold in soil values. Rock samples range from 0.90 to 4.31 g/t gold, 1 g/t to 56 g/t silver and copper ranges from 125 ppm to 323 ppm. 

Target 5:

This target area is located 100 metres due east of the Apollo system and has dimensions measuring 15 metres by 10 metres. Geology observed includes altered porphyry, angular breccia and late stage CBM veinlets. The breccia matrix hosts 3%-5% iron oxides after sulphide with strong sericitic alteration. Anomalous soil sample results for gold have expanded the target area to 200 metres by 100 metres. Rock samples range from 0.56 g/t to 5.59 g/t gold, 6 g/t to 70 g/t silver and copper ranges from 477 ppm to 833 ppm.

Target 6:

This target area is located 400 metres due southeast of the Apollo system and outcrops over a 30 metre diameter area. The outcrop hosts angular, polymictic, clast supported breccia (diorite and quartz diorite) and altered porphyry with quartz veinlets. The matrix cement hosts visible sulphides of 3%-5% and consists of chalcopyrite, sphalerite, galena and pyrite. Rock samples range from 0.39 g/t to 1.07 g/t gold, 6 g/t to 20 g/t silver and copper ranges from 32 ppm to 1,410 ppm.

Update on Apollo Drilling Progress

The Phase II drilling program of 2023 is advancing on schedule with thirteen holes completed and a further six holes in the lab awaiting assay results. Since the discovery of the Apollo porphyry system was announced in June 2022, a total of 44 drill holes (approximately 18,978 metres) have been completed and assayed.

Six additional holes have been completed from the three current drill pads with assay results expected in the near term. APC-44 and APC-46 are long holes drilled in westerly direction with continuous visual mineralization of up to 425 metres. APC-41, APC-42 and APC-45 are shorter holes designed to test the contact zones between breccia and porphyry in potentially higher-grade areas. APC-47 is an exploratory hole drilled to the east from Pad 4. Assay results are expected in the near term.

The Company presently has three diamond drill rigs operating at the Apollo project and additional assay results are expected in the near term.

The Apollo target area, as defined to date by surface mapping, rock sampling and copper and molybdenum soil geochemistry, covers a 1,000 metres X 1,200 metres area, and represents a large and unusually high-grade Cu-Ag-Au porphyry system. Mineralization styles include early-stage porphyry veins, inter-mineral breccia mineralization and multiple zones of porphyry related late stage, sheeted, carbonate-base metal veins with high gold and silver grades. The Apollo target area is still expanding as the Company’s geologists have found multiple additional outcrop areas with porphyry veining, breccia, and late stage, sheeted, carbonate base metal veins.

Collective Mining Drills 271.30 Metres at 3.35 g/t Gold Equivalent from Surface and Expands the Dimensions of the High-Grade Shallow Zone of the Apollo Porphyry System to the West

  • Hole APC-43, cut the longest continuous interval drilled to date of high-grade copper-silver-gold mineralization beginning at surface from Pad 7 at the Apollo system with results as follows:

  • APC-40 successfully extended the strike length of the shallow mineralization to the west of the previously known mineralization envelope and as a result has expanded the maximum known area of shallow mineralization to 150 metres X 130 metres (previously 130m X 130m).
  • The grade tenor and continuity of the intersections in APC-40 and APC-43 reflect an increased understanding of the dip and geometry of the southernmost, high-grade portion of the Apollo system. The surface dimensions of the shallow mineralization remain open for further expansion with drill holes from newly completed Pad 9 and Pad 10 now underway.
  • Five additional holes have been completed from Pad 6 and Pad 7 with assay results expected in the near term. APC-44 is the longest hole drilled to date as part of the shallow drilling program and cut more than 425 metres of continuous visual mineralization beginning at surface. APC-41 and APC-42 were shorter holes designed to test the contact between the breccia and the quartz diorite porphyry with very intense late-stage porphyry veining observed in APC-42. Assay results are expected in the near term.
  • The Company has commenced a long step out drill hole of up to 1,000 metres to the northwest from Pad 6. Presently, the hole (APC-49) is cutting mineralization, which began at surface, to its current depth of 783 metres.

Drilling at Apollo in 2023 has been focused on discovering and defining shallow, high-grade mineralization below surface outcrops. With additional financing in place, the Company has expanded the aim of the program to include long step out holes. The Apollo porphyry deposit is a high-grade, bulk tonnage copper-silver-gold system, which owes its excellent metal endowment to an older copper-silver and gold porphyry system being overprinted by younger precious metal rich, carbonate base metal vein systems (intermediate sulphidation porphyry veins) within a magmatic, hydrothermal inter-mineral breccia body currently measuring 395 metres x 385 metres x 915 metres and open for expansion.

Details (See Table 1 and Figures 1-5)

The Phase II drilling program of 2023 is advancing on schedule with eleven holes completed and a further five holes in the lab awaiting assay results. Since the discovery of the Apollo porphyry system was announced in June 2022, a total of 42 drill holes (approximately 18,000 metres) have been completed and assayed. Assay results and geological observations for APC-40 and APC-43 are summarized below.

APC-40 was drilled to the southwest from Pad 7 to a maximum downhole depth of 214.55 metres and was targeted to intersect the contact zone between the mineralized breccia and the adjacent porphyry mineralization to the southwest. The hole intersected continuous and strong copper, silver and gold mineralization from surface bedrock to a depth of 169.25 metres (188 metres vertical due to topography) with the following assay results highlighted below:

  • 169.25 metres @ 2.81 g/t gold equivalent (consisting of 1.93 g/t gold, 19 g/t silver and 0.38% copper) including:

The mineralized interval starts from 1.5 metres depth with saprolite material followed by saprock and then continues with iron oxides and sulphides until a downhole depth of 18.25 metres. Below the oxide transition zone, the intercept passes into fresh rock consisting of quartz diorite breccia with a matrix of chalcopyrite (0.5% to 1.2%), pyrite (up to 1.5%) and 1% pyrrhotite. Higher-grade zones encountered from 18.25 metres and 87.85 metres downhole reflect zones with a higher percentage of sulphides plus quartz and carbonate in the matrix and reflect areas of higher permeability within the porphyry system.

APC-43 was drilled to the northwest from Pad 7 to a maximum downhole depth of 293 metres. The hole targeted the steeply dipping, southern high-grade zone as outlined by previous drilling from Pad 7 (Holes APC-36 and APC-38). The hole intersected continuous mineralization from surface outcrop to a downhole depth of 271.30 metres (282 metres vertical due to topography) with assay results as follows:

  • 271.30 metres @ 3.35 g/t gold equivalent (consisting of 2.37 g/t gold, 23 g/t silver and 0.42% copper) including:

The mineralized interval starts from surface to 3.9 metres depth within saprolite material followed by an additional 8.1 metres of saprock with iron oxides to 12 metres before transitioning into a zone with an oxidized sulphide matrix. From 19.30 metres the intercept passes into fresh rock with a sulphide composition of 0.5% to 1.3% chalcopyrite, 1.8% pyrite and pyrrhotite (up to 1.3%). The higher-grade zones commencing at 19.30 metres and 214.70 metres downhole relate to zones with a higher percentage of sulphides plus quartz and carbonate in the matrix and reflect areas of higher permeability within the porphyry system.

The grade tenor and continuity of the intersections in APC-40 and APC-43 reflect an increased understanding of the dip and geometry of the southern, high grade portion of the Apollo porphyry as gained from previous initial drilling in this area (holes APC-36 and APC-38, see press release dated March 30, 2023 for further details). Outcropping mineralization in the south dips steeply to the northwest and APC-43 has extended the mineralization another 100 metres vertically in this direction. APC-40 has extended the known area of shallow mineralization laterally and now measures 150 metres X 130 metres (previously 130 metres X 130 metres).

Outcrop mapping and sampling in the south and central portions of the system has outlined a 150 metre-by-130 metre area of known surface mineralization, which is open in all directions.  Pads 6 and 7 have been designed with the objective of understanding the styles and tenor of the shallow, high-grade mineralization from surface down to depths of up to 400 metres and Pad 6 is ideally situated for further step out holes to understand grade continuity at depth. In particular, short holes from Pad 6 (APC-41 and APC-42) have been targeted to intersect high grades at the contact zone between breccia and porphyry as previously announced in APC-29 which intersected 32 metres @ 10.48 g/t gold equivalent from a downhole depth of 112.10 metres below surface. (see press release dated January 31, 2023)

Deep drilling (APC-49) has recently commenced from Pad 6 with visuals highlighting continuous porphyry and breccia style mineralization from surface to its current depth of 783 metres. Drilling of APC-49 continues as of publication of this release and represents the longest mineralized intercept drilled to date into the Apollo system.

Five additional shallow drill holes have been completed from drill Pads 6 and 7 with fan drilling in various directions extending the outcropping mineralization to the west and northeast. Visual observations indicate continuous mineralization from surface over core lengths ranging from more than 80 metres to more than 425 metres. The Company presently has three diamond drill rigs operating at the Apollo project and additional assay results are expected in the near term.

Two new pads have recently been completed (Pad 9 and Pad 10) with drilling underway from both pads. The pad locations were chosen in order to provide more drilling options to test the potential for westerly and easterly extensions of the shallow portion of the Apollo system.

The Apollo target area, as defined to date by surface mapping, rock sampling and copper and molybdenum soil geochemistry, covers a 1,000 metres X 1,200 metres area and represents a large and unusually high-grade Cu-Ag-Au porphyry system. Mineralization styles include early-stage porphyry veins, inter-mineral breccia mineralization and multiple zones of porphyry related late stage, sheeted, carbonate-base metal veins with high gold and silver grades. The Apollo target area is still expanding as the Company’s geologists have found multiple additional outcrop areas with porphyry veining, breccia, and late stage, sheeted, carbonate base metal veins.

Collective Mining Drills 276.3 Metres at 2.95 g/t Gold Equivalent from Surface and Increases the Volume of the High-Grade Portion of the Apollo Porphyry System

  • Assay results for APC-39, which continued to step out to the east from Pad 6 as part of a fan pattern of drilling at the Apollo porphyry system, intersected continuous high-grade copper-silver-gold mineralization from surface as follows:
  • 276.30 metres @ 2.95 g/t gold equivalent (consisting of 2.12 g/t gold, 36 g/t silver and 0.22% copper) in drill hole APC-39 including:
  • The intersection in drill hole APC-39 was terminated short of target depth due to a technical issue while in high-grade copper and silver mineralization, with the final 7.6 metres returning 0.73% copper, 152 g/t silver and 0.46 g/t gold. APC-39 is the easternmost completed hole with assay results from Pad 6 to date and has extended the strike length of the high-grade mineralization at depth from previously announced APC-35 to 125 metres. This subzone of high-grade remains open to the east and west along strike at depth and subsequent completed holes awaiting assay results (APC-41, APC-42 and APC-44) have visually further extended the mineralization.
  • APC-36 and APC-38 are the initial drill holes completed from Pad 7 and confirm for the first time that the mineralization begins directly at surface in this area of the Apollo system. Both holes added new volume of shallow mineralization to the block model and demonstrated excellent continuity of mineralization with higher grade oxide mineralization encountered in the shallowest portions of the holes. Additionally, the holes were beneficial in working out the geometry of the system in this location confirming a steeper dip than modelled with assay results as follows:
  • 169.95 metres @ 2.15 g/t gold equivalent (consisting of 1.36 g/t gold, 19 g/t silver and 0.32% copper) in drill hole APC-38 including:
  • 110.40 metres @ 2.08 g/t gold equivalent (consisting of 1.73 g/t gold, 9 g/t silver and 0.14% copper) in drill hole APC-36 including:
  • Five additional drill holes have been completed from drill Pads 6 and 7 and all appear to have extended the area of outcropping mineralization from bedrock to downhole lengths of up to 400 metres. Assay results are pending.
  • Deep drilling has recently commenced from Pad 6 with a northwesterly hole designed to test for mineralization from surface down to a vertical depth of over 1,000 metres.

TORONTO, March 30, 2023 /CNW/ – Collective Mining Ltd. (TSXV: CNL) (OTCQX: CNLMF) (“Collective” or the “Company”) is pleased to announce assay results from an additional three drill holes completed from Pad 6 and 7 which form part of the Phase II Apollo program within the Guayabales project located in Caldas, Colombia. The aim of the Phase II program is to test and define through drilling the shallow portion of the Apollo porphyry system as well as continue expanding the system through step-out and deep drilling. The Apollo porphyry deposit is a high-grade, bulk tonnage copper-silver-gold system, which owes its excellent metal endowment to an older copper-silver and gold porphyry system being overprinted by younger precious metal rich, carbonate base metal vein systems (intermediate sulphidation porphyry veins) within a magmatic, hydrothermal inter-mineral breccia body currently measuring 395 metres x 385 metres x 915 metres and open for expansion.

Details (See Table 1 and Figures 1-6)

The Phase II drilling program of 2023 is advancing on schedule with nine holes completed and a further five awaiting assay results from the lab. The aim of this program is to define the high-grade mineralization and dimensions of the Apollo porphyry system near surface while continuing to expand the size of the system through step-out drilling.  To date, a total of 40 drill holes (approximately 17,540 metres) have been completed and assayed at the Apollo target with most of the holes testing the Apollo porphyry system.

Assay results for the first three drill holes (APC-31, APC-33 and APC-35) from the 2023 Phase II program were previously announced on February 23, 2023 and March 15, 2023, respectively. Highlights include 384.7 Metres at 2.46 g/t gold equivalent in APC-31 and 359.15 metres @ 3.32 g/t gold equivalent in APC-35, with mineralization in both holes commencing from surface. Both holes intercepted high-grade oxide mineralization from surface with APC-31 cutting 42.35 metres @ 5.08 g/t gold equivalent and APC-35 cutting 35.30 metres @ 8.06 g/t gold equivalent. (see February 23, 2023 and March 15, 2023 for gold equivalent calculations)

A further three holes, APC-36, APC-38 and APC-39 have now been completed from Pads 6 and 7 with assay results and geological observations summarized below.

APC-36 was drilled steeply in an easterly direction from Pad 7 to a maximum depth of 154.1 metres (90 metres vertical). The hole was designed to test the potential for shallow mineralization located on the eastern side of the southern outcrop area and to better define the geometry of the system in this area. The hole intersected continuous mineralization from surface down to 110.4 metres with assay results as follows:

  • 110.40 metres @ 2.08 g/t gold equivalent (consisting of 1.73 g/t gold, 9 g/t silver and 0.14% copper) in drill hole APC-36 including:

The mineralized interval starts directly below overburden at 2.8 metres in saprolite and saprock material with oxidized sulphides until 19.55 metres before transitioning into fresh mineralized angular breccia rock consisting of chalcopyrite (0.2% to 0.8%), pyrite (up to 2.5%) and pyrrhotite (~1%). As expected, gold grades are significantly higher in the oxidized portion of the intercept.

APC-38 was drilled northwards from Pad 7 to a maximum depth of 183.7 metres (165 metres vertical) and was designed to test the potential for shallow, high-grade mineralization located on the northern side of the southern outcrop area. The hole intersected continuous mineralization from surface down to 169.95 metres before expectingly passing into a post mineral dyke with assay results as follows:

  • 169.95 metres @ 2.15 g/t gold equivalent (consisting of 1.36 g/t gold, 19 g/t silver and 0.32% copper) in drill hole APC-38 including:

The mineralized interval starts from surface within saprolite material followed by an additional 15.25 metres of saprock with iron oxides and sulphides to 20.95 metres before transitioning into fresh rock with a sulphide composition of 0.5% to 1.5% chalcopyrite, 1.5% pyrite and lesser pyrrhotite. Magnetite is also present in the matrix enveloped by chalcopyrite.

APC-39 was drilled steeply to the northeast from Pad 6 to a maximum depth of 284.3 metres (285 metres vertical). The hole was designed to expand upon the continuity of high-grade mineralization from surface in a northeast direction within the main Apollo porphyry system. The hole intersected continuous mineralization from surface down to its final depth of 284.3 metres with assay results as follows:

  • 276.3 metres @ 2.95 g/t gold equivalent (consisting of 2.12 g/t gold, 36 g/t silver and 0.22% copper) in drill hole APC-39 including:

The mineralized interval starts directly below overburden at 8 metres depth with saprolite material followed by oxidized saprock for an additional 33.5 metres to a depth of 41 metres. The intercept then passes into fresh rock with a sulphide composition of chalcopyrite that ranges between 0.5% and 1.5%, pyrite values up to 2.5% and lesser pyrrhotite. Overprinting carbonate base metal vein material is also present with sphalerite and galena specifically from 75.8 metres down hole and again at 185.8 metres down hole. The downhole intersection stopped in high grade copper and silver mineralization, due to technical issues with the rig, with the final 7.6 metres returning 0.73% copper, 152 g/t silver and 0.46 g/t gold. Further drilling will be undertaken in this area.

Drill hole APC-37, which was the first hole of 2023 from Pad 4, was unfortunately lost short of target depth due to a complicated fault. A new hole from Pad 4 is advancing well and is expected to be completed in the coming days.

Outcrop mapping and sampling in the south and central portions of the system has outlined a 130 metre-by-100 metre area of known surface mineralization, which is open in all directions.  Pads 6 and 7 have been designed with the objective of understanding the styles and tenor of the shallow, high-grade mineralization from surface down to depths of up to 400 metres and Pad 6 is ideally situated for further step out holes to understand grade continuity at depth. Deep drilling has recently commenced from Pad 6 with a northwesterly hole designed to test mineralization from surface down to a vertical depth of over 1,000 metres.

Visual observations from another five completed holes indicate continuous mineralization from surface over core lengths ranging from more than 80 metres to more than 400 metres. The Company presently has three diamond drill rigs operating at the Apollo project and additional assay results are expected in the near term.

Two new drill pads, numbered 9 and 10, will be completed shortly and once operational will provide more drilling options to test this expanding area of surface and shallow mineralization down to 400 metres vertical.

Collective Mining Drills 359.15 Metres at 3.32 g/t Gold Equivalent from Surface, Including 35.30 Metres at 8.06 g/t Gold Equivalent in Oxides at the Apollo Porphyry System

  • Assay results for two holes APC-33 and APC-35, intended to test the mineralized outcrop of the Apollo porphyry system, intersected significant continuous high-grade copper-silver-gold mineralization from surface as follows:

TORONTO, March 15, 2023 /CNW/ – Collective Mining Ltd. (TSXV: CNL) (OTCQX: CNLMF) (“Collective” or the “Company”) is pleased to announce assay results from an additional two drill holes completed from Pad 6 as part of the Phase II program at the Guayabales project located in Caldas, Colombia. The aim of the Phase II program is to test and define through drilling the shallow portion of the Apollo porphyry system as well as continue expanding the system through step-out drilling. The Apollo porphyry deposit is a high-grade, bulk tonnage copper-silver-gold system, which owes its excellent metal endowment to an older copper-silver and gold porphyry system being overprinted by younger precious metal rich, carbonate base metal vein systems (low and intermediate sulphidation porphyry veins) within a magmatic, hydrothermal intermineral breccia body currently measuring 395 metres x 385 metres x 915 metres and open for expansion.

The Phase II drilling program of 2023 is advancing on schedule with seven holes completed and a further three in progress. The aim of this program is to define the high-grade mineralization and dimensions of the Apollo porphyry system near surface while continuing to expand the size of the system through step-out drilling.  To date, a total of 34 drill holes (approximately 16,000 metres) have been completed and assayed at the Apollo target with the majority of the holes testing the Apollo porphyry system.

Assay results for the first drill hole (APC-31) from the 2023 Phase II program was announced on February 23, 2023 and intersected 384.7 Metres at 2.46 g/t Gold Equivalent from surface which included high-grade oxide mineralization of 42.35 metres averaging 5.08 g/t gold equivalent.

A further two holes, APC-33 and APC-35 have now been completed from Pad 6 with assay results and geological observations summarized below.

APC-35 was drilled steeply to the northwest from Pad 6 to a maximum depth of 366.15 metres (350 metres vertical). The hole was designed to test the potential for shallow, high-grade mineralization located 50 metres west of APC-31. The hole intersected continuous mineralization from surface down to its final depth where it was terminated while still in strong mineralization (final 3.45m averaging 1.11 g/t gold equivalent). APC-35 is the highest-grade mineralization (grams X metres) reported from drilling to date as follows:

  • 359.15 metres @ 3.32 g/t gold equivalent (consisting of 1.84 g/t gold, 48 g/t silver and 0.48% copper) including:

The mineralized interval starts directly below overburden at 7 metres and into saprolite and oxide material until 42.30 metres before transitioning into fresh mineralized angular breccia rock consisting of chalcopyrite (0.2% to 1.5%), pyrite (1% to 2%) and some pyrrhotite (~1%). The mineralization is overprinted by carbonate-base metal veins containing sphalerite and galena and high grades of gold particularly from 318.30 metres downhole. Gold grades are significantly higher in the oxidized portion of the intercept while copper and silver grades are consistently high throughout the whole intercept below the oxidized zone.

APC-33 was drilled steeply to the north from Pad 6 to a maximum depth of 381.35 metres (360 metres vertical). The hole was also designed to test the potential for shallow, high grade mineralization located 50 metres east of APC-31. The hole intersected continuous mineralization from surface down to its final depth where it was terminated while still in strong mineralization (last 4.44 metres grade 1.7 g/t gold equivalent) and averaged:

  • 374.70 metres @ 2.22 g/t gold equivalent (consisting of 0.85 g/t gold, 53 g/t silver and 0.34% copper) including:

The mineralized interval starts directly below overburden at 6.65 metres and into saprolite and oxide material until 49.50 metres before transitioning into fresh mineralized angular breccia rock consisting of chalcopyrite (0.2% to 1.2%), pyrite (1% to 2.5%) and some pyrrhotite (~1%). The sulphides fill the breccia matrix and are surrounded by clasts of quartz diorite and diorite. The mineralization is overprinted by carbonate-base metal veins containing sphalerite and galena. Gold grades are significantly higher in the oxidized portion of the intercept where copper grades are depleted.

Outcrop mapping and sampling in the south and central portions of the system has outlined a 130 metre-by-130 metre area of known surface mineralization, which is open in all directions.  Pads 6 and 7 have been designed with the objective of understanding the styles and tenor of the shallow, high-grade mineralization from surface down to depths of up to 400 metres. Visual observations from another four completed holes indicate continuous intercepts from surface over core lengths ranging from more than 100 metres to more than 275 metres. The Company presently has three diamond drill rigs operating at the Apollo project and additional assay results are expected in the near term.

Two new drill pads, numbered 9 and 10, are under construction to provide further drilling options to test and expand upon the area which the Apollo porphyry system outcrops at surface.

The Apollo target area, as defined to date by surface mapping, rock sampling and copper and molybdenum soil geochemistry, covers a 1,000 metres X 1,200 metres area, and represents a large and unusually high-grade Cu-Ag-Au porphyry system. Mineralization styles include early-stage porphyry veins, inter-mineral breccia mineralization and multiple zones of porphyry related late stage, sheeted, carbonate-base metal veins with high gold and silver grades. The Apollo target area is still expanding as the Company’s geologists find more outcrop areas with porphyry veining, breccia, and late stage, sheeted, carbonate base metal veins.

These most recent results continue to build on the successful winter infill and expansion program at the QES Zone. The robust widths and consistent gold grades in all seven holes provide strong confirmation of the geological interpretation, and significantly increase the resolution of data in hitherto poorly defined volumes.

Holes MQD-22-098, -100, -102 and -103 were focused on closing gaps in the existing drill pattern at shallower elevations. All four holes intercepted a tightly spaced set of narrow, high grade shear zones within a broad envelope of strongly altered granodiorite.

Holes MQD-22-099, -101 and -104 were stepped back to the southeast to test the deeper portion of the eastern end of the QES Zone. These holes have defined the true width of the high- and low-grade mineralized domains in an area of widely spaced and partially sampled historical drilling. In addition to these deeper intercepts on the main QES shear zone, all three holes generated significant high-grade intercepts at shallow depths which define a series of parallel mineralized shears in sericite-hematite altered volcanics and narrow diorite intrusive bodies 200m to the south of the main QES Zone.

Analytical and QA/QC Procedures

All samples were sent to ALS Geochemistry in Thunder Bay for preparation and analysis was performed in the ALS Vancouver analytical facility. ALS is accredited by the Standards Council of Canada (SCC) for the Accreditation of Mineral Analysis Testing Laboratories and CAN-P-4E ISO/IEC 17025. Samples were analyzed for gold via fire assay with an AA finish (“Au-AA23”) and 48 pathfinder elements via ICP-MS after four-acid digestion (“ME-MS61”). Samples that assayed over 10 ppm Au were re-run via fire assay with a gravimetric finish (“Au-GRA21”).

In addition to ALS quality assurance / quality control (“QA/QC”) protocols, Goldshore has implemented a quality control program for all samples collected through the drilling program. The quality control program was designed by a qualified and independent third party, with a focus on the quality of analytical results for gold. Analytical results are received, imported to our secure on-line database and evaluated to meet our established guidelines to ensure that all sample batches pass industry best practice for analytical quality control. Certified reference materials are considered acceptable if values returned are within three standard deviations of the certified value reported by the manufacture of the material. In addition to the certified reference material, certified blank material is included in the sample stream to monitor contamination during sample preparation. Blank material results are assessed based on the returned gold result being less than ten times the quoted lower detection limit of the analytical method. The results of the on-going analytical quality control program are evaluated and reported to Goldshore by Orix Geoscience Inc.

Collective Mining Intersects 55.25 Metres at 1.91 g/t Gold Equivalent in Step Out Drilling at the Olympus Target

  • As a result of OLCU-2, the dimensions of the Olympus system now measure 600 metres by 400 metres and remains open to the east, west, north and to depth for further expansion.
  • Drill hole OLCU-2 is located only 280 metres to the northwest of the currently known northern boundary of the Apollo porphyry system which was intercepted in step out hole APC-17, which returned 547.65 metres at 1.03 g/t gold equivalent (see press release November 29, 2022). Porphyry mineralization observed in drill core at Olympus raise the possibility that the Apollo porphyry system might continue at depth below Olympus. Future deep drilling will test this concept.
  • Multiple zones of NW trending sheeted late-stage porphyry related carbonate base metal veins have now been mapped and/or drilled from Aris Mining’s multi-million-ounce Marmato mine through the ME, Apollo and Olympus targets respectively covering a strike length of approximately three kilometres.

TORONTO, March 7, 2023 /CNW/ – Collective Mining Ltd. (TSXV: CNL) (OTCQX: CNLMF) (“Collective” or the “Company”) is pleased to announce assay results from three underground drill holes completed at the Olympus target which forms part of the Company’s Guayabales project located in Caldas, Colombia. Mineralization at Olympus is characterized by zones of sheeted, late-stage carbonate base metal (“CBM”) veins and veinlets impregnating either porphyry diorite host rock or schist host rock. The Olympus target area measures 600 metres north-south by 400 metres east-west. Previously, the Company announced drilling results from drilling in the northern portion of the Olympus target area which included discovery hole OLCC-3 which averaged 301.9 metres @ 1.11 g/t AuEq (see press release dated March 15, 2022).

Assay results for underground drill holes OLCU-1 to OLCU-3 are announced in this press release. All three holes were drilled from an underground chamber constructed within shallow ancestral underground workings located approximately 280 metres to the west and northwest of the current known northern extent of the Apollo porphyry deposit.

Assay results and geological observations are summarized below.

OLCU-2 was drilled northeastwards at a shallow dip below old workings from the underground chamber to a maximum depth of 331.8 metres. The hole was drilled orthogonally to CBM veins mapped in higher levels within the historical workings. The hole intersected two zones of polymetallic CBM veins and veinlets returning the following results:

  • 55.25 metres @ 1.91 g/t gold equivalent from 172.6 metres including 7.45 metres @ 8.69 g/t gold equivalent, and
  • 47.17 metres @ 0.94 g/t gold equivalent from 284.15 metres downhole.

Both mineralized zones consist of multiple polymetallic CBM veins and veinlets hosting pyrite, sphalerite, chalcopyrite, and galena. The sheeted vein systems are associated with intense sericite alteration and overprint older, potassic altered porphyry diorites containing magnetite and quartz-sulphide, porphyry veins.

Drill hole OLCU-3 was drilled in a NNE direction at a shallow dip from the underground chamber to a final depth of 290.2 metres and intersected a CBM vein zone with similar characteristics to those described in OLCU-2 and grading 0.81 g/t gold equivalent over 17.45 metres. The CBM zone is associated with intense sericite alteration and this mineralized system overprints potassically altered, porphyry diorite.

Hole OLCU-1 failed to intersect the targeted CBM zone due to drilling problems related to faulting and a historical mining cavity.

The current underground drilling and previously reported Olympus drill results (all summarized in Figure 1) outline multiple CBM vein zones covering an area of 600 metres north-south by- 400 metres east-west which is open to the NW and SE as the vein systems strike in this direction.

The CBM vein intercepts in OLCU-2 are located only 280 metres to the northwest of the known extent of Apollo porphyry system mineralization intercepted in step out drill hole APC-17. Drill hole APC-17 was an important step out hole which significantly extended the size of the Apollo deposit northwards returning a long intercept of 547.65 metres @ 1.03 g/t gold equivalent (see press release date November 29, 2022). This hole was terminated at 912.8 metres due to rig capacity limitations and bottomed in strong mineralization with the final 2.75 metres averaging 1.56 g/t gold and 9 g/t silver.

Interpretation work undertaken by the Company’s geological team has, to date, identified three zones of sheeted CBM vein systems which overprint both the inter-mineral breccia within the Apollo porphyry system and then continue to the northwest through the Olympus system. Additionally, porphyry style mineralization has been observed throughout Olympus drill core and underground mapping. As a result, it is entirely possible that the inter-mineral breccia making up the Apollo porphyry system (which plunges to depth as the system is traced northwards) or another porphyry intrusion might lie below the Olympus vein system. This model is directly analogous to the Marmato mine located approximately three kilometres along strike to the southeast where a CBM vein system lies above a porphyry system (Marmato Deeps).

Reconnaissance drilling south of the Apollo porphyry system: Two drill holes (APC-32 and APC-34) were completed to test a surface soil anomaly for copper which is located 150 metres south of the southern limit of the currently defined Apollo porphyry system. The holes were collared from a newly constructed Pad 8 and drilled steeply northwards and westwards respectively, below the soil anomaly. Both holes intersected potassically altered porphyry diorites with low density of quartz-molybdenum-pyrite-pyrrhotite-chalcopyrite veins. Neither hole returned significant precious or base metal values. The Exploration team are using the trace element data to understand the location of these holes and their alteration patterns in comparison with the Apollo porphyry system.

Collective Mining Intersects 384.7 Metres at 2.46 g/t Gold Equivalent Including 109.8 Metres grading 4.14 g/t Gold Equivalent from Surface at the Apollo Porphyry System

  • Assay results for drill hole APC-31, which is the first hole to test the mineralized outcrop of the Apollo porphyry system (*formerly known as the Main Breccia discovery), has intersected significant continuous high-grade copper-silver-gold mineralization from surface as follows:
  • High-grade oxide mineralization was encountered over the initial 42.35 metres of the drill hole averaging 5.08 g/t gold equivalent.
  • Five additional drill holes have been completed in 2023 to date from drill Pads 6 and 7. All five holes appear to have cut significant mineralization beginning at bedrock with the three completed holes from Pad 6 intersecting more than 350 metres of continuous mineralization and the two outstanding holes from Pad 7 intersecting more than 100 metres and 170 metres of continuous mineralization, respectively. Assay results for these holes are expected in the near term.

TORONTO, Feb. 23, 2023 /CNW/ – Collective Mining Ltd. (TSXV: CNL) (OTCQX: CNLMF) (“Collective” or the “Company”) is pleased to announce assay results from the first drill hole of 2023 as part of the Company’s phase II drill program at the Guayabales project located in Caldas, Colombia. The aim of the phase II program is to test and define through drilling the shallow portion of the Apollo porphyry system (*formerly known as the Main Breccia discovery) as well as continue expanding the system through step-out drilling. The Apollo porphyry deposit is a high-grade, bulk tonnage copper-silver-gold system, which owes its excellent metal endowment to an older porphyry copper-silver and gold mineralization being overprinted by younger precious metal rich, carbonate base metal vein systems (low and intermediate sulphidation) within a magmatic, hydrothermal intermineral breccia body currently measuring 395 metres x 385 metres x 915 metres and open for expansion.

Assay results for the first drill hole (APC-31) from the 2023 phase II program is announced in this press release. The Phase II drilling program of 2023 is advancing on schedule with six holes completed and a further three in progress. The aim of this program is to define the high-grade mineralization and dimensions of the Apollo porphyry near surface while continuing to expand the size of the system through step-out drilling.

To date, a total of 32 drill holes (approximately 15,400 metres) have been completed and assayed at the Apollo target with the majority of the holes testing the Apollo porphyry system.

Assay results and geological observations of APC-31 are summarized below.

APC-31 was a shallow hole, drilled steeply to the northwest from Pad 6 to a maximum depth of 389.6 metres (370 metres vertical). The hole was designed to exclusively test the upper portion of the porphyry system from a location where the system outcrops at surface. The hole intersected continuous mineralization from surface down to its final depth where it was terminated while still in strong mineralization. APC-31 is the highest-grade accumulation of mineralization reported from drilling to date and averaged:

  • 384.7 metres @ 2.46 g/t gold equivalent (consisting of 1.17 g/t gold, 43 g/t silver and 0.37% copper) and including;

The mineralized interval starts from surface to 30 metres depth within saprolite material followed by an additional 17.5 metres of saprock with iron oxides and sulphides to 47.25 metres before transitioning into fresh rock consisting of chalcopyrite (0.5% to 1.5%), pyrite (1% to 2.5%) and some pyrrhotite (~1%). The mineralization is overprinted by carbonate-base metal veins containing sphalerite and galena and high grades of gold. Gold grades are significantly higher in the oxidized portion of the intercept down to 47.25 metres, while copper and silver grades are reduced within the same interval presumably due to weathering.

Outcrop mapping and sampling in the south and central portions of the system has outlined a 130 metre-by-130 metre area of known surface mineralization, which is open in all directions. 2023 drill Pads 6 and 7 have been designed to achieve the objective of understanding the styles and tenor of the shallow, high-grade mineralization from surface down to depths of up to 400 metres. Visual observations from five completed holes that are awaiting assay results in the near term indicate continuous intercepts from surface over core lengths ranging from more than 100 metres to more than 350 metres. The Company presently has three diamond drill rigs operating at the project.

Two new drill pads, numbered 9 and 10, are under construction to provide further drilling options to test and expand upon the area which the Apollo porphyry system outcrops at surface.

The Apollo target area, as defined to date by surface mapping, rock sampling and copper and molybdenum soil geochemistry, covers a 1,000 metres X 1,200 metres area, and represents a large and unusually high-grade Au-Cu-Ag porphyry system. Mineralization styles include early-stage porphyry veining, inter-mineral breccia mineralization and multiple zones of late stage, sheeted, carbonate-base metal veins with high gold and silver grades. The Apollo target area is still expanding as the Company’s geologists find more outcrop areas with porphyry veining, breccia, and late stage, sheeted, carbonate base metal veins.

Collective Mining Step-Out Drilling Intersects 601.65 Metres at 1.40 g/t Gold Equivalent and Extends the Main Breccia System at Apollo to the West and Depth

  • Step-out drill hole APC-28, which was drilled to the west from the eastern side of the Main Breccia system at Apollo cut the longest intercept to date as follows:
  • As a result of APC-28, the maximum width and vertical dimensions of the Main Breccia system have increased to 395 metres (previously 350 metres) and 915 metres (previously 825 metres), respectively.
  • Drill hole APC-28 bottomed while still in mineralization indicating that the Main Breccia system remains open for expansion to the west and at depth (as well as to the east and north based on previously announced assay results).
  • Hole APC-30 was drilled southwards on the western side of the deposit and intercepted the Main Breccia system over a broad interval as follows:
  • Four holes have now been completed into the Main Breccia system as part of the 2023 Phase II drill program at the Guayabales project. All four holes appear to have intercepted the Main Breccia system with mineralization beginning from surface.  Assay results for these holes are expected in the near term.

TORONTO, Feb. 15, 2023 /CNW/ – Collective Mining Ltd. (TSXV: CNL) (OTCQX: CNLMF) (“Collective” or the “Company”) is pleased to announce assay results from a further three holes drilled into the Main Breccia system at the Apollo target (“Apollo”), which is part of the Guayabales project located in Caldas, Colombia. The Main Breccia is a high-grade, bulk tonnage copper-silver-gold porphyry-related system, which owes its excellent metal endowment to multiple phases of mineralization which includes older copper-silver-gold porphyry mineralization and younger, overprinting, low and intermediate sulphidation, precious metal rich sheeted carbonate base metal vein systems.

Assay results for all thirty-one diamond drill holes from the Phase I drilling program for 2022 have now been announced at Apollo. The Phase II drilling program for 2023 is advancing on schedule with assay results for the first holes expected in the near term. This press release summarizes assay results of the final three diamond drill holes from the Phase I program with results summarized below.

APC-28 was a step-out hole drilled steeply to the west from Pad 2 to a maximum depth of 956.35 metres (915 metres vertical) and was designed to test western and depth extensions to the Main Breccia system. The hole intersected the longest interval drilled to date within the system, commencing at 354.70 metres down hole (335 vertical) and averaging:

  • 601.65 metres @ 1.4 g/t gold equivalent and including internal intervals of:

The mineralized angular breccia of this intercept represents the largest accumulation of metal returned to date within the Main Breccia system and contains a sulphide matrix which includes 0.5% up to 2.5% chalcopyrite and between 1% and 3% pyrite plus some pyrrhotite. The breccia has been overprinted by zones of carbonate and base metal (sphalerite and galena) veins, which yield the higher gold equivalent intervals. APC-28 stopped in mineralized breccia due to rig constraints. This hole has extended the main breccia westwards by 115 metres and is the deepest intercept drilled to date outlining continuity of mineralized breccia to a vertical depth of approximately 915 metres below surface. APC-28 also represents the westernmost hole drilled into the Main Breccia system and demonstrates that the mineralization is thickening with depth and has an inverted funnel morphology as outlined in Figure 2 below. This western area of the deposit remains open for expansion as the hole stopped in strong mineralization.

As a result of drill hole APC-28, the overall volume of rock in which the Main Breccia system is located has grown in width to 395 metres (from 350 metres) and a vertical dimension of 915 metres (from 825 metres). The strike of the system remains the same at 385 metres.

APC-30 was drilled southwards from Pad 4 to a total length of 589 metres downhole and intersected mineralized breccia from 267.60 metres downhole (240 metres vertical), averaging:

  • 318.85 metres @ 1.10 g/t gold equivalent and including internal intervals of:

Gold, silver and copper mineralization relates to sulphides hosted within the angular breccia matrix with average concentrations of pyrite (2%) and chalcopyrite (0.5%). An upper zone of 60.8 metres bearing 2% to 3% chalcopyrite was intercepted at the beginning of the mineralized interval and a sheeted and overprinting sphalerite rich CBM vein zone of 81.4 metres was encountered from 472.3 metres downhole.

Reconnaissance hole APC-27 was drilled due east away from the Main Breccia system to test outcropping mineralization at surface. From 300.40 metres downhole (210 metres vertical depth) the Company intersected a new zone of continuous low-grade mineralization with assay results as follows:

Core logging of the breccia system at Apollo by the Company’s geologists has identified that the crackle breccia as seen in this newly discovered zone, is typically found both above and on the periphery of the more intensely mineralized angular breccia phase. As a result of this assessment, the Company may have drilled over top of an angular breccia zone with stronger mineralization than was intercepted in APC-27. Further exploratory drilling will be undertaken in this area.

The Company’s Phase II 2023 program is well underway with three rigs focused on drilling near surface, high grade mineralization below mineralized outcrops in the southern and central areas of the Main Breccia system from newly constructed pads 6 and 7. To date, four shallow holes have been completed and confirm continuous mineralized angular breccia from surface. Three of these holes were drilled from Pad 6 and were terminated while still in strong mineralization. The fourth hole from Pad 7 appears to have drilled out the east side of the system indicating a more vertical orientation to the system that was previously modelled. Assay results are expected in the near term.

The Apollo target area, as defined to date by surface mapping, rock sampling and copper and molybdenum soil geochemistry, covers a 1,000 metres X 1,200 metres area. The Apollo target area hosts the Company’s Main Breccia system and multiple additional untested breccia, porphyry and vein targets. The overall Apollo target area also remains open for further expansion.

Rock and core samples have been prepared and analyzed at SGS laboratory facilities in Medellin, Colombia and Lima, Peru.
